Journey!!!: Perhentian Island#My experience#Kuala Lumpur to Perhentian by bus#approximate Trip expenses!!!

Perhentian islands are situated in Malaysia.These are basically two islands: Perhentian Besar(Big island) and Perhentian Kecil(small island).These islands in Malaysia are mainly famous for their crystal clear water.This blog is useful to the travelers planning to visit Perhentian islands for the first time.

Take a bus from TBS station(TBS online ticket booking website ) in Kuala lumpur to Kuala Besut.Try booking the last bus ,as the first boat that you have to take after reaching Kuala Besut starts at 8:00 AM .
Approximate bus journey time from kuala Lumpur to Kuala Besut is 7 hours and the boat journey to reach Perhentian islands is 45 minutes.

We chose to stay at the small Island - Perhentian Kecil

After reaching Kuala Besut,at the Jetty point , pay 5 RM towards development tax . (Try buying Beer at Kuala Besut as it's expensive at the beach).

To and Fro boat transfer cost is 70 RM.Try booking the boat transfer through the hotel/resort/Chalet. Pre-booking is advised to avoid waiting in the queue for the ticket.

After reaching Perhentian, close to the shore you have to move into a small boat called boat taxi to reach the shore.This costs 2RM per head.

Snorkeling trip(along with the snorkeling kit) - 40RM. Takes you to 5 different points,viz.turtle point,shark point,turtle beach,Fish point and lunch stop. Carrying a medical kit is advised.For those weak hearts-this advise is not to conjure up how daunting the trip could be.It is just to attend any untoward incidents.

Other activities at Perhentian include scuba diving(200 RM approx), trip to cover all the baby islands(around 150 RM per boat), rented Kayak(50RM for 4 persons), Jungle trekking, night parties at the beach.
Turtle beach is a must visit place at Perhentian. Romantic beach was good too.
